IDALACOL Lake Pigments are used where dyes are unsuitable due to their solubility in water. Some of the most common applications of Lake Pigments are coating application, icing application where the colour must not bleed, baked treats where colour migration is an issue and so on.

Idalacol range of lake pigments are one of the brightest and most consistent lake pigments available in the industry. Various tests are performed at our laboratory to ensure the batch-to-batch consistency of our products.

Idalacol Lake Pigments are available in two major forms:

Powder: This form is ideal for any dry application. A small use of lake imparts a very bright colour in a dry mix
Pre-dispersed liquid (Dispersions): We disperse the lake pigments in various liquids including water, oil, sugar syrup, propylene glycol, glycerin and so on, based on our customers application

	The photograph above demonstrates an analysis of a batch of Idalacol Lake Colours using Digital Particle Size Analyser. This equipment gives reading in microns of the range of particle size and distribution of the pigments, permitting ROHA to measure from d 0.1 to d 0.9, as well as a maximum particle size limit.

The result of a typical analysis is demonstrated in the graph reading above. Through measurement of every batch, ROHA are able to assure customers of a similar particle size profile, which leads to consistency and uniform performance every time.

The graph indicates a clean and controlled particle size range without a 'tail' of larger particles which often impact upon the dispensability and thixotropy of the pigment, additionally indicated is that 100% of the pigments are below 38 Microns in size, which falls well within the specification required.
